Our Worship

untitled0033 (1).jpg

We worship both morning and evening as an expression of our hunger for the means of grace, and our delight in the Lord’s Day.

We seek extensive biblical content in our worship through the  consecutive reading of Scripture, the singing of Psalms, the use of the Lord’s Prayer, and the regular recitation of the Ten Commandments.

We draw from the wisdom of traditional forms of Christian worship such as ancient prayers, classic hymns, the Nicene Creed, the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the Gloria Patri (“Glory Be to the Father”).

We emphasize the role of both the Word and sacraments in the life of the Church by means of two sermons each Lord’s day, and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper each Sunday evening as the culmination of our worship.

We value elder leadership in worship as each of the elders takes his turn with our pastors in prayerfully preparing the service of worship and leading the congregation.

We strive for congregational participation by all through heartfelt singing, unison and responsive readings, and the congregational “amen” throughout the service.

We seek to express both reverence and exuberance in the presence of the Lord, standing out of respect for the reading of his Word, and raising our hands as an expression of desire for Him and his blessing.
